To “make” ice, we need a 3-5 day forecast where the daily high temperatures are sub 32 degrees, this is necessary to establish good ice base. Once a good ice base is established, the quality and usability of the ice is determined by weather factors, maintenance issues and/or patron use.
“OPEN” signs will be displayed and the entrance gate will be unlocked when ice rinks are deemed usable.
Lights are on a timed “ENERGY SAVER” system and are activated with the push of a button from dusk until 10:00pm.
