Project: Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessible Improvements
During the fall of 2024 the Park District made a major improvement to the Prospect Park playground by upgrading the surface material to a Poured-in-Place (PIP) surfacing material. This playground surfacing material allows ADA accessibility to the entire playground for individuals and their families.
Project: Prospect Park Courts Renovation
The Prospect Park Courts Renovation is completed.
Project: Prospect Park Athletic Field Improvements
The Park District retained Hitchcock Design Group for services to conduct the Preliminary and Final Design services, Program and Schematic Design, Bidding, and Construction Administration services for Prospect Park Athletic Field Improvements. Construction will begin approximately in August.
Project: Hosek Park Master Plan
The Park District retained Hitchcock Design Group to begin the Program and Analysis phase, Schematic Design phase and the OSLAD Grant Preparation phase for the recreational improvements at Hosek Park. Preliminary plans are for: an accessible pathway to the sport fields, gazebo. basketball court renovation, natural area overlook, and other minor recreational amenities. The Park District may be applying for an OSLAD grant next year to assist in paying for these recreational improvements.
