Adult Trips are for adults, age 50 years and better. NOTE: There is NO REFUND for trips after the registration deadline, the exception is IF there is a Wait List for the trip AND space can be filled. For information about any Adult trips please contact Kathy Forzley at 630-323-2626 or at

Our Program Registration Form is located in the panel to the right. Beginning in August 2014, a "Household" must be established in the system in order to register for programs and trips. The form is available on the Home Page or at the Clarendon Hills Park District office. Click to download & print, then fax to 630-323-5362, mail or walk in. Please Note: Payment for classes is required to reserve a spot.

All trips include transportation on air-conditioned 35 passenger bus. We attempt to give you as much information ADULT DAY TRIPS as possible regarding the amount of walking required during each trip. The symbols below will allow you to make a more informed decision regarding trip registration.

Learn about the life of our 16th President, as we explore the first major EXPERIENCE MUSEUM that combines priceless historical artifacts with innovative state-of-the-art exhibits, special effects theaters, and contemporary storytelling technologies. You will be fully immersed in exhibits that make you feel as if you are there, as well as gallery rooms with historical artifacts. We will enjoy a buffet lunch in the downtown historic district at Maldaner's, and time permitting we will finish at the Lincoln Tomb in the Oakview Cemetery. This tour includes deluxe motor coach transportation, museum admission, and lunch. We will make a rest stop each way. This is a long day, but something that every Illinoisan should see! Our last journey took us as far as Pontiac. This trip will take us down to Atlanta, Illinois. We'll enjoy a big breakfast at the Route 66 Family Restaurant in Dwight before we begin our journey down the Mother Road with our guide the award winning author John Weiss. We will see sites such as "Dead Man's Curve" and "Memory Lane". There's a stop in Bloomington to visit the Beer Nuts Factory and Outlet Store, where you may purchase treats. We will make a stop at the Route 66 Visitors Center in Bloomington, and visit the historic Funks Grove Farm, where you can purchase their famous maple sirup (yes spelled correctly). We will finish in Atlanta, home of the Bunyon Giant, shopping, and museums. We will have dinner at the historic Palm Cafe´ in Atlanta. (Blue Plate Special and a piece of their famous pie). Spring has officially sprung, and summer is around the corner - SO, let's get together for some great food, good friends, and outstanding entertainment. We'll celebrate spring at the Park District before the dog days of summer. You must be a resident of Clarendon Hills or come as a guest of a Clarendon Hills resident. Pre-registration at the Park District office is required. Non-resident guests may register for the luncheon beginning Monday, April 1 if space available. (KF)

Spend the day viewing Milwaukee's historic domes at Mitchell Park Conservatory, where we can tour three domes, each representing a different climate. The show dome is featuring "Fathoms Below" Undersea Garden Floral Show. We will lunch at Maders Restaurant where we will enjoy their sampler platter. You will have time to stop at Usingers Sausage across the street. We will end our day exploring Milwaukee from the water, as we take a 90 minute cruise exploring Milwaukee's past and present from the rivers, harbors, and Lake Michigan. Offering unforgettable views and a unique perspective of Milwaukee's history and architecture, this tour is narrated by experienced and entertaining tour guides and the captain. Nestled amongst the rolling hills of Southwestern Wisconsin is the enchanting village known as "America's Little Switzerland." New Glarus was established as a Swiss Colony in 1845, and has retained its Swiss charm in everything from the Alpine-style architecture and colorful flower-filled window boxes to the gourmet food. We will tour the Swiss Historical Village which is comprised of 14 buildings and offers a heartwarming glimpse of pioneer life in the Swiss Colony of New Glarus and its settlement. We will dine at the Swiss Hotel (choice of Wienerschnitzel, Grilled Chicken Breast, or Swiss Steak). This meal includes a cheese fondue demonstration as well as Swiss entertainment. We will conclude our day with a trip to a Cheese and Chocolate Haus, where you can purchase treats to take home. What can be better than fresh picked fruit? We will stop at a local orchard to pick or purchase peaches, as well as enjoy their farm stand and bakery, and then on to lunch at Hawkshead Inn, which sits on one of southwest Michigan's premier golf courses (choice of Lake Superior Whitefish, Pure Michigan Chicken, or Beef Tender Medallions; salad, dessert and beverages). We will travel to the beautiful resort town of South Haven, where you will have time to enjoy the shops and lakefront. (Make sure to stop and taste Sherman Dairy ice cream). Our next stop is at one of the largest blueberry farms in southwest Michigan to purchase fresh picked blueberries and view the facility. This tour includes motor coach transportation, and lunch. We will make a dinner stop on the way home. Dinner is on your own. (KF) Deadline to sign up for this tour is Monday, July 8th. This tour is a co-op with Lemont Park District.

Step back in time and explore and learn about the Amish history and culture in Shipshewana. Menno-Hof is a must stop before you take in the rich landscape and gentle charm of the Mennonite and Amish Community in and around Shipshewana. The Center interprets the rich history, the family-oriented lifestyle, and deep faith of the Anabaptists in a variety of multi-visual ways that will truly enrich your experience in Amish Country. We will do a drop off at the flea market and in town. You may choose how to spend your time. We will eat a late lunch at Das Essenhaus, which serves the food family style. This meal is extremely filling—so don't fill up on Amish goodies. On the way to the restaurant we will stop at a quilt garden or two on the way. These gardens are modeled after a favorite quilt pattern and planted entirely in flowers! While at Das Essenhaus, you will also have time to check out the shops.
